What's involved
Most Southampton homes can take a 7.4kW charger without a supply upgrade, but it depends on your incoming main fuse, the state of your consumer unit and the earthing arrangement. We check all three before quoting so the price you get is the price you pay.
We install on Victorian terraces where the cable run needs care, on 1980s semis with garages, and on newer estates with shared parking bays. If the board needs an upgrade first, we'll tell you up front rather than mid-job.

Common questions
How long does an EV charger installation take?
A straightforward install takes around three to four hours. Longer cable runs, a board upgrade or an earth rod add time, which we confirm at survey.
Do I need my fuse board upgraded first?
Not always. If your existing board has spare capacity and RCD protection suitable for the circuit, we can wire straight from it. Where it isn't suitable we'll often fit a small dedicated consumer unit just for the charger, so you get a compliant, properly protected circuit without being pushed into paying for a full board replacement you don't need. If the existing board is genuinely unsafe we'll say so, but a separate unit is usually the cheaper route.
